it's more than just a fight for my life. It's a fight for my soul and my soul
mate.'

And she unknowingly enrages a very dangerous breed of immortal who wants her soul or life as payment. With the help of supernatural friends and protectors, Jazzy thinks she's safe until what remains of her family is put in danger. Does Jazzy have what it takes to save her family, life, soul and soul mate, or will all be lost?

True Connection is hard for me to review because I’m too
afraid to give too much away and no one likes someone who spoils the book.
Before True Connection was completely finished, I had the pleasure of chatting
with Rachel beforehand. We would share snippets and help each other out however
we could. Most of the time it was moral support. So when Rachel asked, or maybe
it was more of me saying I want to beta True Connection, I absolutely fell in
love with this story.
Jazzy’s character is real. She can be the girl standing next
to you in line or sitting behind you in a movie theater. That’s what one of the
many things I loved about Rachel’s book. Her characters are so real that you’ll
find yourself looking for them. Back to Jazzy. Jazzy and her brother Henry have
to move in with their uncle after an unfortunate accident. Doesn’t seem that
bad right? Well it is when the new school you’ll be attending is the rivals to
your old school. She just wants to lay low and graduate. Nothing’s that easy.
Jazzy is gaining the attention from the star-quarterback, Derik. I don’t know
about y’all but I never really cared for the attitude of the popular crowd. Now
don’t get me wrong not all of them have that attitude were they think they are
better than everyone, but the ones that did, yea don’t care! So Derik is a
douche. You’ll have to figure out why though!
It doesn’t stop there though. Then she starts hearing
something following her in the halls. What is it, a ghost maybe? Talk about a
first day of school! But it gets better because a boy makes an appearance. An
incredibly hot boy, but I’ll use Jazzy’s words
“The kind of guy that
makes your eyes bug out, your mouth water, your heart beat of your chest, and
your brain turn to mush.”
Yup, let me introduce you to Seth. I absolutely adore Seth.
Seriously, he’s the boy you dream about. He’s sweet, charming, sexy as all
hell, but he’s also protective, strong, and deadly. He’s not like the other
boys you read about. He’s not a bad boy, well maybe he is, but not when it
comes to Jazzy. You can feel their chemistry coming off the pages. You can feel
Seth’s infatuation with her immediately but you can also tell that there’s something
different about him too. Then there’s Skeeter! OMG love love love her.
Seriously the girl is a riot and she says exactly what she’s feeling. She doesn’t
hold back. Skeeter and Seth are close and take to Jazzy immediately. Why you
ask? Well that’s another thing you’re going to have to read for yourself.
Now lets go back and talk about Henry a little. I love
Henry. He’s super protective of Jazzy and just an all-around amazing brother.
He actually reminds me of my older brother. Jazzy and Henry have a unique bond,
some might think its crazy and might be threatened by it, but I absolutely love
it. It works for them. They rely on each other like family should. But when
Seth comes into the picture, it starts to strain their relationship. Henry
meets a group of guys that are like massive. I love each and every one of them,
but have to say Barry is hilarious. He makes life so interesting and he picks
on Jazzy. Some might misconstrue the relationship between him and Jazzy for
something more. It’s totally nothing more than a friendship, a brother-sister
type love.
But nothing in life is easy right? Everyone has their own
secrets. The thing is when those secrets are out in the open will everything be
ok? When Jazzy’s life is threatened can a compromise be made between two groups
to protect her? True Connection pushes the bar on paranormal. Rachel Walter
creates a world within a world that you can completely immerse yourself in and
get lost to the point of no return. A new take on soul mates that will leave
you wanting more. And when the big climax takes place, talk about some serious
action coming from all sides, not to mention some interesting new characters!
If you haven’t picked this book up yet, you definitely need to get on that. So
go grab it now!
